I have always been attracted to anything that reminds me of the circus or the carnival and I have been known to do a 180 turn in the middle of traffic if I see something that even vaguely hints at it. Consequently, when my children recite a list of all the things I have done to embarrass them over the years, getting this shot will probably make the top ten. Imagine you are at that age when you just want to blend in. You're stuck sitting through family dinner at a restaurant in an upscale part of town instead of hanging out with your friends. A storm starts to roll in and you're hoping this means your parents will hurry up with dinner so you all can head home. But rather than finish her salad and fret about the weather like a normal parent your mother jumps up from the table, pushes past the diners trying to make their way in from the rain, dashes out to the patio, and climbs over the tables to balance on a railing so she can get a shot of the café lights with her iPhone.
