As I so often do my paintings from photographs that I shoot, this image came to me when I saw the composition and then intentionally threw my camera out of focus. I wanted to have a soft view of hard lines to strive toward a different look and feel. My hope was that it would take the viewer one more step away from reality while still knowing what they were looking at. I made my palette using more pastel colors than usual to complement the feeling.
